M Tip: You can’t go wrong with a burger building station! From toppings like pineapple slices and coleslaw, to jalapeños and bacon, there’s plenty of room to get creative. And beside the usual saucy suspects like ketchup, mustard, and relish, throw in a spicy mayo, Thousand Island dressing, or some peppa sauce!
The possibilities are endless…and delicious!
Need we say more?
Always a hit, and with good reason, H Jason Jones offers local pork ribs and spare ribs that leave our mouths watering at the very thought.
Slow cooked, bbq’d, or smoked? Oh my!
Throw on a dash of your favourite BBQ sauce, it’s time to get messy!
From strip loin and t-bone, to top sirloin and ribeye, they really have it all when it comes to a succulent steak. Try them on the grill, in the pan, but best of all on a PLATE!
Keep those carnivorous cravings at bay with H. Jason Jones, and trust us when we say, this meat can’t be beat!
(Did we mention delivery is free?)
And of course, we can’t forget the fish!
Let’s face it – there’s nothing quite like freshly cooked fish, especially on the BBQ.
Fish and smoke are such great friends (think smoked salmon), and living on an island, we really are spoiled for choice!
When it comes to fish, Ocean Fisheries will have you hooked in no time.
Think marlin, tuna, salmon and swordfish, think lobster, snapper, barracuda and king fish!
As the largest fresh and frozen seafood processor and distributor in Barbados, Ocean Fisheries has. it. ALL.
And what rhymes with fish?
Well…not really, but there’s nothing like a good vino when you have fresh meat and seafood nearby, and what’s a BBQ without a few bottles?
While pairing wine with food can seem intimidating it really doesn’t have to be a challenge. Try these can’t miss matches and smart suggestions from Ocean Fisheries’s illustrated pairing guide for an effortless – and delicious – sipping and serving experience!
Who better to make your pour decisions with than The Grape Vine?
These wine experts have got it down to a science when it comes perfect pairings, check out their suggestions below!
Wine not a red?
Nothing says ‘BBQ’ like a nice Argentinian Malbec.
The Trivento Reserve Malbec is a fantastic wine that pairs perfectly with meats such as beef, pork or lamb. The tannins from the Malbec enhance the delicious flavours of the meats, which come out when they’re grilled. For the more full bodied wine lovers, the Cabernet Sauvignon by famous Chilean brand Casillero del Diablo is a fantastic option.
Yes way, rosé!
Looking for something to pair with your grilled chicken? How about a nice rosé wine? The Manon Ros, from the Provence region, is great to serve, as it’s dry and refreshing and allow the flavours to be more pronounced without being too overpowering.
If the chicken’s seasoning is more on the spicy side (like jerk) then we would recommend a Riesling to help beat the ‘heat’. The Wente Riesling from California would go perfectly with such a spicy dish.
& For the Herbivores…
For the vegetarians, not to worry, there are some wines that combine PERFECT with grilled vegetables. Most pair well with Rosé wines, or dryer white wines like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. We would recommend either the Marques de Caceres Rosado, the Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, or the Santi Pinot Grigio.
For red wines, we would recommend a lighter style red such Pinot Noir and Chianti. Our recommendations would be the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Pinot Noir or the Melini Chianti Classico ‘Terrarosa’ from the Tuscany Region.
Are your taste buds tingling? Ours are!
Remember, just because summer is over doesn’t mean that your fun has to be.
We hope that our suggestions gave you some great ideas for your next gathering, and got those creative (burger) juices flowing!
