Elisa Zorzi’s home was transformed into an elegant yet cosy art gallery in October as she showcased her unique pieces to select guests. As invitees to the private exhibition of the ‘SOLO Collection’ sipped on Italian wine, they marvelled at the artist’s use of colour, mixed media acrylics and the inclusion of island elements—such as palm tree bark—in her paintings, which are inspired by nature, her environment, people’s feelings and, especially since moving to Barbados, dance, music and rhythm.
But it was the Elisa Zorzi (EZ) Mood Table that surprised and captivated her guests on October 13. The meeting point structures are made in a modern design with wood, plexiglass and cast iron, each showcasing one of the expat’s paintings. By the end of the exhibition, Elisa not only sold one of those tables—the design for which she has patented in Europe and the United States—but five of her paintings as well. ‘The Fairy’, ‘Sky-Sand-Sea-Night’, ‘Lost City’, ‘Evolution 1’, and ‘Evolution 2’ all found new homes.
