Okay, you’re convinced, you want a massage, but which one do you get?

Look, we get it, there are so many types of massage out there, and sometimes choosing a style can be a bit confusing if you’re not quite sure what it involves. Below is our guide to some of our Chakra favourites, check them out and find the massage best suited to you!1. Swedish Massage
Swedish massage aims to totally relax the body.
As one of the more classic massage techniques out there, it has virtually become
synonymous with massage therapy. During a Swedish massage the therapists make use of lotion or oil while rubbing the muscles continuously in broad general strokes in the direction of blood flow, and then may transition to specific strokes to address problem areas. Great for improving circulation and flexibility, and increasing oxygen levels in the blood, all while easing tension and pain, Swedish massages are pure bliss, and can be especially helpful if you’re recovering from an injury2. Aromatherapy Massage
Simply put, this is a Swedish massage that includes the use of essential oils. Extracted from flowers and other plant parts, essential oils offer a pleasing scent and are believed to have healing properties such as the alleviation of pain, detoxification of your body, and even an influence on your overall mood. Each essential oil is said to have different effects and benefits, for example chamomile and lavender are known to promote relaxation, while others, like peppermint, can help perk up your energy levels. The soothing effects of aromatherapy massage can benefit a variety of conditions, including headaches, certain digestive orders, back pain, and even insomnia.

3. Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is focused, therapeutic massage that targets muscle knots and specific problem areas in deeper layers of the muscle and connective tissue, by using deliberate, slow strokes or friction across the grain of the muscles. Perfect for alleviating chronic body aches and pains, stiffness – especially in the neck, shoulders, and upper back – lower back pain, and overall muscle tightness. This type of massage is particularly beneficial for people with lingering injuries that cause limited mobility, and is effective in treating repetitive stress injuries such as tennis elbow or carpal tunnel syndrome, and can be helpful in reducing the symptoms of osteoarthritis.4. Hot Stone Therapy
As the name implies, hot stone therapy uses smooth, flat, heated stones, which are placed on specific points on the body such as along your spine, on your stomach and chest, or on the palms of your hands.
The premise behind the therapy is that the direct heat of the stones relaxes the muscles, allowing therapists to access deeper muscle layers.Used to help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissue throughout your body, hot stone therapy also expands the blood vessels, and encourages blood flow throughout the body, while having a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress, and promote deep relaxation.5. Head Massage
Now this one is a real treat, and might just be our favourite.
The head massage, a Ayurvedic form of healing, has been practiced for centuries now and is the ultimately relaxation tool. Not limited to the head, this form of massage can also include the neck, shoulders, and upper body, and it is one of the most effective ways of relieving stress, daily anxiety and strain. Meanwhile, it enhances blood circulation to your scalp and improves the quality of your hair, making it thicker and shinier, can prevent headaches and migraines, and is said to even help you sleep better!
